We’re taking a break too. But we have a few longer pieces and series in the works. Michael is going to analyze the American cityscape in a series of posts, looking at how cities in the United States could change for the better and what we could learn from places like Japan and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Taylor is going to review a few books. One deals with the aftermath of a small radiation leak at one of America’s national laboratories, and what ensuing public outrage can teach us about the proper place of science in a democracy. The other book review will examine why we struggle to get big things done on time and under budget (California High Speed Rail anyone?). In any case, enjoy the holiday!
